Perfectly Imperfect

Now that I’m a bit older, I like to think that I know who I am. This is not to say that I exist in some permanent state and interact with the world statically, rather more that I am delightfully aware of the positive aspects and the fallibilities of my personality. Within this awareness of self, I am constantly evolving into the best version of myself while harboring the knowledge that I very may well have to settle for perfectly imperfect. As I grow, I simply aim to act authentically within that identity, doing my best to exemplify the positive aspects of my personality and minimize the negative. I try not to neglect an ongoing understanding of myself as a person, rather, as I grow, I take understanding and knowledge from each experience and apply it towards my evolving understanding of myself and the universe around me. By giving myself grace, and room to grow into what I believe to be the most authentic version of me, I begin to see the slow trickle into what I am meant to be witihin my life, and what I intend to project into the world as well.

My experience therein is that there are several difficult aspects of acting authentically within your life. First and foremost I would endeavor to say that the nature of coming to grips with the best and worst parts of your personality can perhaps be the most challenging. In my approximation, just by exploring the nature of the human process, we discover that we are all a little bit cringeworthy as human beings (It certainly may be the case that some of us are signifcantly more so than others!). However the cringiest parts of our personality must be examined just as thoroughly as the parts that we are proud of and display most boldly. By rooting through the depths of our intrinsic characteristics, we are able to begin to see what serves us in our authentic path through life and what doesn’t. We must act as if we are able to control our authentic evolution within this life, even if it seems that it is out of our grasps. By continuing to assess and alter our scope within our lives, we can slowly hone ourselves into exactly what we wish to become.

When we become aware of the most authentic actions within our life, we can begin to understand what actually constitutes our individuality and what's just fluff. We can begin to strip away the layers of the facade of our own humanity to bare what is most important to our growth, and subsequently what is preventing us from growing into the being that we desire. Just as we must become familiar and confident with the best parts of our personalities, we must also confront and uproot the behaviors that contradict our truest intentions. I am constantly seeking improvement within my own understanding of myself, as I continue to evolve into the most positive and impactful human being that I can become.
